Trimmed and glassed the scuttle together today. Where we have the nosecone and scuttle sitting we will have clearance for the hood over the engine. The supercharger sits too high so we will have to make provisions for that. Got the scuttle and nosecone from Jack McCornack of Kinetic Vehicles down in Oregon.
Installed throttle linkage and made up push rods for the clutch and brake master cylinders. Still need to install brake and clutch hydraulic lines and adjustable brake proportioning valve.
Suspension installed. Chassis rolling for first time. Had to put some blocks down and have a sit in the drivers position, make car sounds and dream a little. Got some used rims and tires as placeholders for now until I get others.
Pedal bay. Using stock Miata clutch and brake master cylinders. Pedals are cut from sheet or use stock Miata parts and modified.
Bought the engine back in January of 2012. 1990 Miata 1.6L with JR Racing Supercharger kit on it. Spec’d for about 5psi boost. Test fit in the chassis. Will eventually get a intercooler if needed.
Installed stock miata handbrake lever and connected to stock e-brake cables and balance bar. Shortened cable and clamped at new length.
